I have watched so many gun review videos, I've confused myself. Is there a pellet firing 1911 replica with blowback that is decent and accurate enough to hit a tin can at 10 yards? So many replicas seem to be BB only which I don't really want. I want to buy my 1st replica and want to try and get it right 1st time. Many thanks in advance for your suggestions

Nice choice of pistol , I have a few but there all BB. I've done a search for pellet firing 1911's and can only come up with the Umerex. One wasn't cheap at £263.99. A little on the pricy side for me.

That's nice, there is just something about the 1911's.......... classic, timeless etc. I would love a de-act one but I bet there not cheap. I like the Browning Hi-Power too, I own a Umarex 8mm blank firer from the 1980's. That's a nice looking pistol ...from the same designer too.

Agreed, that's pricey. I might have to rethink the BB thing ! 🤔 it's just that I don't have any BB firing guns and it would mean changing my targets/backstop setup to mitigate richochets?

Great selection of 1911's there Ricky! I've only got the one, these days....View attachment 834135
Thanks Ricky! I agree, they are something special, a truly iconic design and as you rightly attest, "....classic, timeless etc."

If I could afford just one 1911 replica, it would be the superb, 6mm Inokatsu version! Somewhat the other end of the scale from my £110 KWC TFW example....

If you are considering BB......don't forget there are the Excite Smartshot copper-coated lead BB's which are far less ricochet-prone than standard steel balls. More expensive, but not nearly as 'concerning' to shoot!

I'm not aware of a pellet firing 1911 with blowback but the Umarex rotary pellet firer takes some beating.

There are plenty of variations to choose from and they are of quality German manufacture.

Ok, so if I go down the BB route, what are peoples thoughts on the best mid-budget 1911 ?. Am I right in thinking the triggers will generally be lighter on BB versions compared to pellets ?

Dust devils. Turn to dust on impact. I was looking at a pistol before I bought my P17 and he suggested them for co2 pistols.

If you're going down the BB route, the ASG STi Duty One 4.5mm BB Blowback Air Pistol is worth a look.
It is basically a 1911 replica with a 20-round magazine, and tin-can accurate at 10 yards.

Whichever BB guns you choose, be careful with the choice of pellets... some guns use a magnetic to hold the pellet in place while the slide does its thing. . Dust Devils aren't magnetic so they can potentially wander around inside the gun and jam it.

The triggers on blowback pistols aren't heavy but they generally have a long first stage. . It's not a problem when you get used to it.

It's a poor replica though.
Depends on the definition of replica I guess.

Externally, they certainly look the part, mostly. Weight and handling are good too.

Granted, internally they are revolvers but they shoot pellets and offer excellent performance.

They will also outlast all the cheap Taiwanese replicas.
