šŸ‘»BRK GHOST thread šŸ‘»

Wow!! What a thread!

I started off with a few guns in mind but think I have settled on the ghost. Have read the entire thread over the last week or so. Loving the pictures and different specs.

I am pretty set on a ghost plus in black, with probably a sidewinder 6-24 scope. I really like the custom longer shrouds so tempted on that but also the main draw of the ghost is not needing to fiddle so much like it seems you need to with an impact so maybe I shouldnt mess although I’ve seen plenty of attachments and add ons that look nice.

Any thoughts on the sidewinder? It’s my first pcp and I’d like to go with a ā€œproperā€ scope rather than immersive.

Any suggestions on scope mounts, seems I’d need at least medium if not high mounts on these.

Thanks and double thanks for all the inspiration!!

Unbelievable rifle!
Love mine, it's a lazer. Scopes are personal preference, I had an Airmax on mine, then went down the Alpex LRF route as mine is used for hunting. It's basicly a "cheat code" šŸ˜‚ there isn't much that gets missed.

Mine has high mounts with the alpex.

I've now had mine over four months and have zero buyer's remorse. I have used it on the range and regularly out in the field overnight in some thoroughly awful conditions and it has not skipped a beat. Apart from some personalisation, polishing the hammer spring, fitting a pin probe and tuning it to a very consistent 11.5ftlbs with the most efficient .177 pellet it was great out of the box. If they did an off the peg .20 carbine I'd buy a second one yesterday.

What's involved in polishing the hammer spring? What's the process?

Has a a pin probe made any diffrence to the rifle? Mines a .177 with the standard probe

To polish the hammer spring I removed the back end of the rifle and then pulled out the power adjuster wheel with its integral spring carrier/worm drive taking care not to lose the ball bearing facing upward just in front of the wheel. The spring will then either drop out or a partial pull the cocking lever will encourage it to come out. The spring ends were roughly ground so I held each end down on some fine wet and dry on a flat surface and got them very smooth before polishing them. I then laid a flat cotton cloth out with some Solvo and laid the spring sideways on and just kept buffing and rotating until it all gleamed.

The pin probe takes seconds to fit and did improve the feel of cycling of the mag as well as it being designed to work better with slugs. The performance of .177 10g Zans is better with my rifle now and it has not adversely affected accuracy with pellets in any way. It is crucial to check after with a chrono if fitting a pin probe as it can improve air flow into the barrel by a little which may need to be compensated for.

Great stuff thanks for the info šŸ‘

By far the best gun I've owned..... And I've chopped and changed around a lot over the last few years to find the one that suits me best!!
From the balance, solidity, versatility and precision, this ticks the box all round.
I must admit, I like something a little different and striking when it comes to my airguns on the range and in the past I've had Red Wolves, Alpha Wolves, Wolverine Forester, FX rifles and the Blaze Edition on the Ghost stood out to me from a mile away. Even the gun shop I bought it from knew that I would walk out with this when I saw it, and I went in for an entirely different gun!

Never been disappointed and doubt I ever will be!!

I made it myself using basic hand tools and a pillar drill. To be fair I was more worried about waiting for one to arrive in the post and wanted to crack on with working on the rifle.

Fellow Ghosters. I have a question on the single shot loaders. There appears to be two, very different styles. One, flip- out type, with a finger tab. The other, looks like our magazines, without the flap. Does this version need to be removed every time, loaded, and re-inserted?? They are a similar price. So looking for the pros, and cons, of either. Alternatively, are they not worth it, in terms of improved accuracy, and spend the money on another 13 shot mag?? I used to be all about flinging lead down range, since a newly acquired HFT500, I’m learning slow and steady wins the race. Thanks

I’ve got two Brk mags and a 3D printed single shot loader. The only difference is the single shot saves me a fortune in pellets but isn’t any more accurate.

I have the PRS flip out single shot loader and find it ideal for range use. Plus I also do a fair bit of ratting and have on occasion had that many rats in front of me that I've gone through three mags and then in goes the single shot loader so I can continue spreading leaded joy. The single shot loader is beautifully made and still allows the rifle to be cycled quickly.

If you do get a single shot loader, make sure it's got an O-ring or something to stop the pellet falling out backwards, otherwise they are a complete menace and, if you're anything like me, you will spend some happy time getting pellets out of the trigger mechanism. I don't know about the rotating ones, but the early PRS flip-outs did not have any such mechanism, which really amazed me, as normally PRS stuff is really well designed, and I have used them a lot. If you don't want to fork out for the later model PRS loader, have a look at the loaders @Aston_Shooter makes - they are first rate, a third of the price and every bit as good.

As far as accuracy goes, I haven't found any difference between a mag and and either the PRS, or the @Aston_Shooter model SSL, but since I use my Ghost for HFT some sort of SSL is almost essential.
