Agreed mate. I love mine. To the point Ive sold 1 of my Gen 1 Alpex's and think I may sell my other as I've put the 4k on innomount QR mounts so I can reliably switch between rifles.

Definitely not right at the time. If you get anymore issues we can compare anyway, before you feel the need to send it back. I've had issues like that with my Pulsar Mergers when in foggy/humid conditions

What setting is the LRF on mate, as in how long it pings. I think I have mine on 5s ping.

I've heard that if the battery power is low it won't work, though haven't heard of it not working properly.
