    The mighty 17hmr

I'm picking up a HMR tomorrow for my first taste into the calibre. Had a go of it today as it's a mates who is selling it. Zeroed at 50 yards and it was on at 120 yards too. Looking forward to getting out with it on the rabbits and if a fox pops out then fair game.

A question for our Scottish Members

They asked me where I would be keeping it. I had space in my cabinet, so said I'd keep it in there or in the locked cupboard where the cabinet is kept. They said either would be fine.

That was 100 yards outdoors Not a 1 off either. It'll happily do that all day, with loads for varmints, to lead free and loads for target.

I've wanted 1 since you sent me the vid of you shooting something a fair bit out with the rifle. I nearly bought 1 at the start of the year, but bought a new Zeiss LRP as I preferred the illuminated centre cross on the reticle, rather than the whole reticle being illuminated. I will have 1...

Heavy factory ammo is hard to come by. For target work a heavier barrel is beneficial, and if you want to be at least semi competitive you'll be reloading anyway. Personally I reload for the reason that I shoot non lead ammo for deer, and I like the precision from reloading for target work.

Yup Tikka T3x here My favourite rifle. Get 1 with a 1:8 twist barrel to suit heavier bullets for target work. Mine will shoot 40-77gr bullets and is the most accurate rifle I own

The Sahara version is plastic too. And like you I'd rather not worry about scratching it. I'd end up going for the FAC version so that I could adjust power from sub 12 to 30ft/lb depending on distances

    Brocock Sniper XR

Anyone using 1? What's your opinion on them Quite like the look of the ceracoated Sahara version I've tried the search function but nothing comes up

Well your in the ideal place for it. Best bit of grayling fishing I've ever had was on the Stanley beat in my younger days. Plan to go back up in the next few weeks for another walk of the runs
