As one of those who started my air gun shooting in the late 60s with BSA Meteor Super, which l still have, what do you….

A) think of the new Birmingham built BSA Meteor Super?
B) think of Andy’s gushing review? Warranted or unwarranted?
C) GRT or Springer or neither, save my money?

Please, this is not to be a general BSA bashing thread, just a genuine question about the new gun.

Not a fan of break barrels ( from an engineering perspective it doesn’t seem a good idea) but I’m a BSA fan, the gun looks the part and the 35m accuracy looked half decent. But for the price, I reckon a Weihrauch would be worth paying a little more for.

I hope it has great success they were a big part of my childhood.
And before people start telling me it's Gamo, it's still made in the same factory and carries the same name as mine from 50 years ago. The heritage is there and no one can deny it.

I don’t watch his reviews anymore.

I’m absolutely sure that he’s trying to do nothing but good for the sport and the community. However he clearly has his favourites. I haven’t watched it but I’m guessing it’s the best thing since sliced bread?

I very nearly bought a new R12 from his review but luckily I decided on an AA s510r US……good decision.

I think his intentions are good and I don’t dislike him, however his reviews aren’t for me.

I certainly wouldn't buy one based on the review by that bellend and most definitely wouldn't pay £314 quid for one. Would need to have a play myself to draw a conclusion and it'd have to be the spring version considering BSA rammers are utter shite

I'm going with the Pellets and Pistons (youtube) review which found that the new stock was biased against the use of open sights.
Surely that has to be a basic consideration for entry level guns?

I consider BSA springers to be overpriced when compared to a Hatsan 55s/60s or even the lesser Striker models. Half the cost and a better quality rifle in my opinion.
I would not recommend a BSA springer to anyone that is looking for a decent rifle on a particular budget

Nowt wrong with break barrels, feels like they shouldn't work as well as they do but they do and no offence but if you're a fan of decent engineering then look beyond the BSA brand old and new and you'll soon find much much better tackle

The new meteor super looks quite nice in the flesh, yes it’s made in Birmingham, BSA confirmed..
AAR…? Gone right of him and his reviews to be honest, they’re great if you’re first getting back into airgunning but not long before you realise he’s pushing sales for vector air, and he reviews a lot of what I’d call tat in amongst some of the good stuff,
Get an Hw99 instead..!
Hands down a far far far better rifle 👍
Sorry BSA, our Ultra Clx is faultless but Weihrauch springers are way better than the 2 Uk built BSA springers 👍
