BSA meteor

Just been to a boot sale and a chap had a few old rusty bsa meteors didn’t bother asking how much as should not buy more guns really,………however, just spotted a mint meteor with a period scope for £75

Good deal or not?
Not bad price at all for mint condition with a period scope!! 👍 I would say at least nudged into 3 figures for that

One sold for £160 this morning at an auction - before additional fees!!!! (Over £200 with fees 😳😳)

Oooops 😗

I’m in the middle of tinkering with one I was given it wouldn’t cock so hadn’t been fired. Anyway it does now but the trigger is something else, I’ve never fired a air rifle with such a tight trigger, good work out for the finger

Yes! I would say so its not like you can buy much with £75 its got a scope of sorts, they are way better than the press many give them these days, they were budget guns but were capable enough. I would say its a fair price.

Scope is scrap - I sent it over to Paul Burke but not fixable

It’s accurate enough though

BSAs of that time give good performance it must be said yet get some bad press from the sooth sayers on the innerwebs. I love em myself. But i was that weird 17 year old kid in 1975 who bought a 1970 Triumph trident when all i knew were telling me to buy a honda four... Nothing wrong with Honda fours but there was nothing wrong with the trident either . Just sayin

I got into this hobby late in life in my 50's and missed out on the experience of shooting tin cans in my youth.

I started with a pcp last year but then thanks to this forum I wanted to acquire an older air rifle and got myself a couple of bsa meteors and I enjoy shooting them just as much as my pcp, probably more enjoyment if I am honest.
