What co2 rifle for my poor old dad ?

A little guidance would be appreciated.
Around 18 months ago I got my ailing father a 177 Springer he was recovering from a 2 MTR fall and subsequent shattered pelvis . This helped him a bit and he enjoyed it . Very recently he had a minor heart attack and although 99% ok the recovery plan definitely doesn't involve Cocking a springer. So I want a co2 rifle waiting for him when he gets home . Budget around £250 . He's 87 and had a very rough time in the last 3 years.
His eyes are good and he's got a reasonable scope . Just for laughs this is what's left of his pelvis all titanium so it's at least doubled his scrap value.

I know you said co2 but they do have their limits particularly in lower temperatures. Pcp would be a much better bet with the smk pr900 being affordable. For co2 id say hammerli 850 .magnum. you should pick up a second hand one for that money. They use the same action as the walther rotex rm8.

If you aren't bothered about a traditional stock an SMK CP2 light and very easy to cock plus the option of mag or single shot tray.
Another vote for the CP2. If you are old a frail it’s probably ideal. It’s not too big, it’s very light, and both myself and pretty much every other user all say it’s pretty bloody accurate!

Hello, Have you found any rifle for your Dad ?
Yes getting a smk c600 if I lived on the island iow it would be difficult but he has zero tech back up in ventnor . 177 too small . Light and simple it's to stop him dwelling on losing my mum .
He's 90 and not a serious shooter. Springer too hard . He just wants some accurate ting ting ting!

Good choice

Front sight clashing with scope .
Any advice on removing it ? no visible fixings it's either glue or interference fit .
Hammer and Makita on standby;;

hi up

Might be an idea to get some spare co2 seals if you or your dad hasn't already got some, the original in mine didn't hold up well following a day of shooting with quick changes of co2 bulbs. There wasn't a spare co2 seal in the box, every other o-ring but not a spare co2 seal.

Thanks I'll get some in .
Unfortunately he's not able to stay on top of that sort of thing. I need to put a new one in the 2250 XL
Do you know the size or should I jest get a set ?
Thanks for the advice.

I'm trying to encourage a weekly session of thirty shots so he doesn't leave the gun at full pressure for too long.

I'd go with the QB 78 as previously mentioned a sort of copy of the crosman 160. Before the VCA i used to tune these rifles nearer to 11fpe and sell on gun mart. Very tuneable rifles.
