In a flagrant attempt at self promotion, I've copied this link here as one of the two pistols is a Gen 5 Makarov, that some may find of interest.

Me too.

I like them all but the Gen 5s are probably the most realistic Baikal Maks to have been made.

My vote goes to a '99 with bakelite grips.

The Gen 5 not only suffers from frame flex but one of the ones I have was shooting bbs at less than 1 ft/lbs due to a near 2mm gap between Mag and Breech, in part due to the missing "claw" on the breech and no breech seal or option to fit one.

I was lucky enough several years ago to buy a job lot of spares which included a few Gen 5 clawed breeches and Mag heads.

Once fixed they're as good as any other Mak

Bit of a myth, that.

With a magazine in place, the flex is barely noticeable, if at all, certainly not enough to affect structural integrity or performance
