Morning Frog blokeI use them (jsb monster 13.43gr) in my huntsman for BR. They produce less power than 10.34s but excellent accuracy.

Setup with 10.34 jsbs. Bis mags and monsters both produce less power.I use them (jsb monster 13.43gr) in my huntsman for BR. They produce less power than 10.34s but excellent accuracy.
Who is "our research team" ?You are correct. Most are unsuitable. Many assume it is pot luck - our Research Team disagrees; science determines the outcome. We are unlocking secrets and mysteries!
To be fair, I've had very good experiences with slugs in a .177 Ultra SEVery interesting with the Scorpion, is it the SE? We are finding the Ultra SE to be excellent with Zan 13s and Pro Hunter 9.7s. Short barrel and high reg pressure is important, rifle lands are the most important
You are absolutely right. Launch errors can occur and we are exploring ways to mitigate them. In the below video we cover this, there are three main sections, BSA, FX and HW. The BSA part is most relevant to you. There are tips and advice regarding the magazines. Let us know what you think! To be fair, I've had very good experiences with slugs in a .177 Ultra SE
In the very early stages of testing, I got to the point where I believed the short (inefficient) barrel, coupled with the large burst of air, needed to make acceptable muzzle energy, helped the Ultra SE.
But, success with slugs also relies on other factors
Firstly, the ability of a slug to be presented well in the breech and secondly the choke. Heavy chokes seem to stop slugs dead in some barrels and at best, cause a drop in muzzle energy
Good effort testing. Our video below on wind drift, pellet vs slug may be of interest to you. We contend they are far superior to pellets in the wind, but agree its really hard to test given how random wind can be. Please do feedback on your thoughtsI, too, have just started testing Zan 10gr slugs and so far they work well, only in two guns so far, my Epoch likes them and the mag has no trouble, and my Alpha Wolf mag does not cope with them, both guns are pretty accurate with them, good groups at 35yds but the Epoch is better at 80yds, but then it had a much longer barrel, both seem to be better in the wind than pellets but its marginal, but given the almost constant gusty wind at our range it's not surprising as its often luck coupled with judgment hitting long distance targets, I have yet to test with my other guns.
Thank you for your support. We are doing our best to achieve maximum performance from our sub12s and strictly adhere to power rules. We consult gunsmiths and RFDs and are committed to innovation. Progress in Airgun technology has resulted in even budget PCPs competing in accuracy with rifles 10X their price point. So we belive the future is in optics and projectiles. Without this motivation, wr would still be using springers and iron sights. Technology has progressed at a mind blowing pace and has arguably outpaced the general culture and mentality in the airgun community who can be fairly stuck in their ways.I have to say I do feel there is a certain negative undertone to the replies in this thread. Which I find odd. Like people don't approve of someone trying their best, indeed going above and beyond, to find some definitive answers to a question many people are curious about.
I find I am a bit sad and ashamed and not like the usual friendly AGF attitude. It's hardly encouraging is it![]()
High chap we have a small team of engineers researching and testing slug capability with sub12 air rifles. We have a YouTube channel. This particular video explains what we've been up to and what we are planning. We've made some progress since this videoWho is "our research team" ?
Cheers
I've found this too, in my rifles the JSB 10.34grn always seems to produce more muzzle energy than anything else, even heavier pellets like Bisley MagnumsSetup with 10.34 jsbs. Bis mags and monsters both produce less power.
If anyone else knows what Georgia was meant to be before it was auto corrected I'd be interested to hear. Ive know idea and I wrote itIn Georgia we should all search out eh absolute heaviest, or lightest, pelet and power test with that certainly.

Maybe it seated straight?I recently tried some jsb knockouts 10.03 gn 4.51s in my ultra 177 mmc at first had trouble closing the bolt and the accuracy was not that good TBF. But by accident I tilted the rifle forward about 45 degrees while loading . then realised that the bolt closed as normal but when shooting off a bipod the grouping was really good I dont know why tilting the gun forward before closing the bolt makes everything sweeter maybe the slug seats itself better. But at 35 yards my max range at the time they produced really good groups...

Slugs have straight sides (like a cylinder). We find Zan 13s are more forgiving than Zan 10s because the are longer and have a longer 'cylinder' part to help seat themJust re-reading this thread.
I always feel with slugs tge shape is wrong. Obviously absolutely no basis in ballistics, of which I know nothing.
It's just the way with diabilo they have two points of reference in the barrel, and sit straight, but the 177 slugs we don't only have 1 and cant see how they seat properly.
