.20 calibre resurgence?

The good news is there will be two new rifles available in .20 calibre this year.
The bad news is they are both made by FX.

Fast forward to 14 mins:

Hopefully other manufacturers will follow suit?
Afore FX start in on .20, it seems that learning, at least the caulking of ship's planks properly, & theory, to prevent leaks, may be a better , forward looking aspiration, rather than caliber offerings ?

Has anyone used an HW100 in .20 I am thinking of a special order for the 100X (fac) which could take a few months and more £££s so real experience opinions would be appreciated

Yes, I have a HW100KS in .20 and love it. Plenty accurate for hunting (and more) with any pellet I’ve tried. Same hole at 30 yards plus.

If you’re into pellet testing and target shooting and all that faff looking for nth degree of accuracy probably not worth it as there are only about 5 readily available pellets. It’s a hunting calibre in my view.

I got briefly excited about the DRS compact .20, but then remembered their barrels are a lottery. £225 for a crap flexy barrel and £50 for a plastic magazine that probably won’t fit in the action nicely is an utter joke 😂

Can't say anything about a fac hw100 in .20. but I've been using .20 for the last thirty years and fac .20 for around 25years. Currently have a logun mk1 and rapid mk2 in the .20 cal. And they are excellent. The heavier jsb makes a difference for hitting power.

I meant to add, I’m not sure there’s a .20 resurgence, it’s probably more to do with manufacturers needing more ways to sell us shiny new stuff and make more money.

Daystate are also making .20 Reveres as a limited run.
There must be more people inquiring about .20 for the big hitters to start offering them again.
Now we just need Kaiser to restart .20 pellet production 🤞

Most likely a UK only version.

Here I don't think it will be offered, or special order only. Almost all rifles from FX Airguns sold on FAC here is 25/30/35.

Those sold in 177 are legal limit only (8 fpe)

The 20 is just in between, not really attractive for either group.

I think talk from the shooting show was that it is UK specific. .20 is a good calibre for Sub 12 but no so appealing either side.

Got a .20 HW100kt FSB sub12, had it for about 10 years and it's been a great rifle. Was getting about 60 shots with the original factory set-up but sent it in to HW100 Tuning for the full upgrade and their lighter higher capacity titanium cylinder. This has made a great rifle even better and now getting just over 100 very consistent shots. I'd like to see one of the quality pellet makers produce 10gn and 10.5gn ammo for sub 12 use. I reckon this would really work to the strengths of the 20 cal.

Actually, probably not...at a point, going lighter, for the same bore diameter will garner the loss of form / ballistic coefficient positives... i.e, look at JSB 14.3* in .22 vs. the 13.4* grain pellet. 11.5 is, at the low end, probably the best combo.

Me too, we’ve long been crying out for a pellet to challenge the FTT.

I was looking at some old 80’s airgun mags the other day and there were so many 20 pellets available, probably thanks to Robert Beeman and Theoben.
