Hi all,

I've been offered 2 LGR's this evening from the family of a close friend, I sort of feel obliged to make an offer on at least one of them given the circumstances for sale!
One is a universal in immaculate condition, I've seen this at the range last year, It's not really something I want to tie money up with as I have an Original 75 and I'm looking for a FWB 601/3 or a more modern SSP.
The other is said to be in not as good condition but was serviced late last year and in his words "needs the wood varnishing and a good polish" I don't mind taking a punt on a cosmetically challenged one that is mechanically sound.
I can't remember the last time I saw one for sale but they have always been one of those guns I'd have one at the right price if one came along.
I'm thinking £450 to £500 for the universal and £300 to £350 tops for the other?

Cheers guys.

abolutely beautiful rifle to shoot though... i recently got my LGR universal & had so much fiun at the weekend actually hitting what i aimed at ha ha ... somethimg so special about those old match target rifles
They are going to auction soon, another family member who wouldn't know which end of a gun to hold thinks they are worth over double my vsluation!
I'll keep an eye out for when one pops up, I need to add one to my collection at some point!

Sadly, you won't be the first to have been undermined by a smart arse, who doesn't really know much about the subject but has AI at his fingertips. I peruse Ebay and price setting when items are added for sale seems to make most airgun spares non-viable. The rifles will go for auction and after commission I'm sure said relative will be left red faced..

If you can show them a Gutrader price they may change their mind about an auction. Auction fees can be high!

If the lads going to be a smart arse and thinks he knows best, i would just let him take the fall and offer i smug "i would have given you x" 😉

He thinks the really nice one is a minimum of a £1000! Not sure where he gets that from, I've been looking for one for a while on and off and not even seen one for sale apart from a well used one a week or so ago.
