After a little information if anyone is local to the area , travelled home yesterday from Croydon to Norfolk following Google navigation , for some reason it didn't take us home the same way we came so I have needlessly paid for the Dartford crossing , we went through a tunnel at some point which my partners daughter says is the Blackwall with fees payable , I went online and registered for auto pay but the account is showing no charges , we saw no payment signs on approach to the tunnel , in the tunnel or on exiting the tunnel , is there another tunnel in the area we could have driven through ? Seems odd that the Blackwall account is showing no charges if we actually drove through that tunnel , any local knowledge would be appreciated ?

Pretty sure you can look at your route, but are you sure you didn’t comeback through the Dartford Tunnel?

I didnt even realise the Blackwall tunnel had fee’s now, its been awhile since I use it

Edit, maybe fees are only at peak times?

Good point.

@Fatbob 59
Did you travel only on the M25?
Going via the Blackwall Tunnel would have meant using a fair amount of non Motorway routes and dual carriageways through more urban areas like the A12.

The M25 has twin tunnels going Northbound at Dartford but a bridge going Southbound.

I'll try to check the route but Google may give a different one today , it said yesterday's route was due to congestion at Dartford

There is the Rotherhithe Tunnel near Tower Bridge which I believe is still free you know you are in it because it is two way and quite scary . Then Blackwell and new Silvertown Tunnel's which are next to each other and are chargeable, then the Dartford Tunnel .
I searched for that one but maps shows it permanently closed ?

There should be an option for previously used routes….somewhere. Sorry I tend to use imaps so not sure where it would be on google

We went over the bridge southbound

Aha.
In that case it is most likely that you went through the Blackwall Tunnel.

That would be the most obvious route from Croydon to the M11.
Odd that you say it's the most obvious route as it always takes us south via Blackwall bridge but not by the tunnel coming north on our last two visits , strangely we didn't use the Blackwall Tunnel on our previous trip , middle of last year , I remember being in Peckham at some point on that trip !

"Blackwall Bridge??"

The main Bridge going South is Dartford Crossing.
The next Bridge is Tower Bridge which is pretty distinctive.

Dartford Crossing has twin tunnels Northbound.

I was based near the start of the M11 at Redbridge for some years and had friends in and around Croydon general area.
As far as I recall, Blackwall Tunnel.was my route when driving.
So it seems obvious to me.

Typo , Dartford bridge

You pay for blackwall and silvertown. They are quite a direct route for norfolk, as its basically just a straight road all the way up to the m11.
Pretty sure you have to register a road charging account before you use it,(ive had mine long before they started charging the tunnel, it covers congestion and ulez too) best off just paying for the crossing.
