WhileI rther like my H5A- its a lovely bit fo kit and every time I take it out it makes me smile- Im not a fan of the stock at all. It always feels a bit too flat along the top- it does work, but Id much rather have something a bit more trqaditionally shaped, and having a thumb position would be bliss.
Anyome know of anyone that does these or could do one? Im considering a 3D printed one, but I suspect it would take along long tone time before I got around to t!

Love the H5a, it’s one of my favourite platforms to work on. They do very much benefit from having the whole grip area sorted out too. To extract the most out of them you really need to get the action located correctly in a custom build, it’s slightly different to doing say a S400…

Anyway here’s one I made for @Jimmypie a while back based on the factory styling but with the ergonomics corrected.

Very nice, Tom. I’ve never made a stock from scratch.

The laminate stocks aren’t quite the same shape as the ‘nut wood’ ones. Leastways they need different jigs to hold them.

Cheers Nobby! When going from scratch, each action needs something slightly different (why I never bothered going into batch production), but you can really make a H5 action shine if you get it right :)

Interesting fact about the subtleties of the shape, but that factory laminate looks (and probably handles) all the better for one of your risers.

Of all the air rifles I have owned, the H5a is the one I most regret selling.

Here’s a nut wood one. This time with external thumbscrews, and a longer comb.

I like external thumb screws a lot 👍🏻

Yea I’m not really a pre-charge rifle guy but the H5a is on my list for one day… Thankfully I have a good relationship with Steyr UK who are just up the road, which helps when I get stuck for measurements etc… on builds :)
