I can't remember the last time shot my pistol, let alone when I bought this case.
I know I bought the case for my archery sight, but the size was wrong and I figured that at some point, I'd put the pistol in it. Today was that day!
Original receipt still in the box, can't belive I bought this in 2004.....(the pistol)

I read a lot about the seal? Given it's age, I imagine it would benefit from a new one.
It still works and cycles like it should but today it was a little hesitant to puncture the cartridge? Seal a little brittle? It didn't leak.
Ran a few magazines through and then discharged... Interested in people's thoughts..

Give the seal a bath in Pelgun oil. My experience of the rotary magazine Umarex pistols is that the seals seem to last forever.

Thanks for that. Will give it a go

I found my CP88 a bit reluctant to puncture the cartridge properly so I filed some coarser grooves in the brass wheel under the cartridge. This gives just enough extra grip to push the cartridge up a bit more before closing the usual lever.

Another way is insert the cartridge and lightly screw the wheel up then slightly close the lever so it pushes on the bulb. You will then find you can wind the wheel another quarter turn or so and then close the lever. You will then get a good piercing.

Possibly more to do with a slightly out of spec CO2 capsule (perhaps thicker cap metal) than the gun itself.

Provided the cartridge seals aren't left with a capsule in for ages, they seem to keep on going (with a little bit of lube every so often).

I need to do this on my Umarex Smith & Wesson 586, bits of tape on the base of the cartridge are not a long term solution.
