Recently I decided to get back into Airguns and got slightly obsessed on my work travels lol with visiting Gun shops! to try the feel, weight, and look of the guns then doing a bit more research then trying another shop...I bought 2 pistols and 1 rifle from 3 shops but here is my breakdown of the shops giving them a score
😏

This is just my experience on the days I visited...
The best service by far was Sportsman Dorchester the mature gent could not be more helpful patient and knowledgeable!
Crackshot also great helpful large shop just let me try what I wanted no pressure.
Donaldsons by far the best range and lots of used guns.
But Just AirGuns were by far the worst
😔
terrible, had a small line of rifles you could not touch asking to shoulder them was like he was doing me a huge favour and made a big deal of getting a gun for me to try! Made me give him my driving licence before I even touched a rifle, indifferent attitude, arrogant and extremely unfriendly!
In the End I bought -
AirMaks Katran from Wednesday Marksman (love it)
Reximex Mito Broadway Gunrooms. (Very accurate pistol)
Umerex PPK Sportsman (horrendous lol but I like Bond
😉

Scores below-
Sportsman Gun Centre Dorchester. 10 best service
Crackshot Newton Abbot. 9 best overall
Donaldsons Bletchley. 8 best range
Wednesbury Marksmen. 8 best prices
Sportsman Gun Centre Exeter. 8
The Broadway Gunroom Cotswalds. 8
Solware Tamworth. 7
Perkin Daventry. 7
Gilders Northampton. 6
DAI Brierley hill. 6
Just Airguns London. 1

You have to try the gunshop barnet olympic gold medal winning levels of rude. Probably wouldn't even register a score.

Would’ve been good for you to jaunt just a bit further down the A38 to The Gun Room, a short way before you get to Plymouth. Family owned, really relaxed, knowledgeable & helpful bunch. Range available to check out isn’t as broad as Crackshot however, but I’d look there before anywhere else (mind you, helps that I’m local 😂)

Thankyou I might try there I am based in Lyme Regis :-)

The Sportsman Exeter, Crackshot Newton Abbot and The Gun room on the A38 near Plymouth. I've bought from all of them and agree that they all offered first class service. I did order some scope covers from Sportsman Exeter, I waited a couple or three weeks for them and when they arrived they were the wrong size. Their service was so good though and the range of guns in the shop so vast that I must still recommend them.

Thank you RooCarl for taking the time to compile that review. (y) :)

John Forseys (Welling) were pretty abysmal IMHO on the two occasions I had the misfortune to visit, small shop, stuff all over the place, staff that seemed unable to smile, promises to call me back about a gun I wanted, but never heard from them again! I think they have now closed!
Likewise my experience at GT Bellamy (I think now has been sold or closed down?) in South Croydon, were similar to above. The guy who served you, not sure if he was the owner, never smiled once on all the occasions I visited the shop, and it always felt like you were massively inconveniencing him out just by being in the shop. Also a very small shop, not much (Airgun) stock, plus his prices were high!

Good info. I didn't know about Donaldsons Bletchley and they are less than 20mins from me (y)

Made me give him my driving licence before I even touched a rifle,

Whaaaat? Homer face palm:ROFLMAO:

Although TBH I think you've only yourself to blame, you should have taken the hint. 🤷‍♂️ If they are making you climb through a window to get in, they obviously are not wanting your business.:ROFLMAO:

Some dedicated shopping there going around all those. (y)
