Bag of guns and ammo left outside Kahns house and....

All fire arms holding police should pay for them out their own pocket and if lost should be made to pay 5 times .
I think they may look after them better.

Yes it is bad. Yes it is an embarrassment. Yes the officers will be undoubtedly investigated and in the current climate will be removed from such duties. Probably permanently. Somebody f***ed up........it is a human error and mistake. Anyone else ever made one?

Media are the winners as it fills a few lines in a 24 news cycle desperate to fill virtual column inches and gets clicks. As for the guff of the firearm may have gone off and injured or possibly killed the finders unborn child? Please.......

Not much of a story really.

I’ve never been guilty of this myself but the general public would be surprised how often members of the military temporarily misplace their weapons and/or ammunition.

I remember many moons ago having to jump in the duty wagon in the early hours of the morning and race off to a coach depot to retrieve a GPMG that had been left on a coach that brought us back to camp at the end of an exercise.

Edit - I’ve never heard of any member of the military being sacked for this, bollocking and fine is the usual outcome.

Saw this earlier and didn’t pay much attention but hearing what was in the actual bag. Holy crap… someone is about to have a really bad day and will be lucky to keep their job. Nice find though.

Nuts, the individual might have been better knocking on the door and not calling The Sun.

Heads will roll....

Ignoring the fact it shouldn't happen, and police should be the last people for this to happen to....its surprisingly common.

In the past, I have on two occasions found a shotgun unattended, once against a tree, loaded, on a pheasant shoot and once on a outdoor table at a clay day.

The one I found at the pheasant shoot the bloke literally wandered off then couldn't remember where he put it in the woodland. 🤦🏼‍♂️

The clay day the chap had nipped to the loo but still left it unattended.

Considering I've not been on more than a dozen of these 'days out' I'm surprised it's not talked about more.

For every incident like this that makes it to the news, there’ll probably be loads that get dealt with before anybody notices.

I remember one occasion when I was in the Royal Navy; we were on the range doing refresher training with the 9mm pistol. We had finished shooting and were getting ready to leave. At this point we all had to check our pockets and make a declaration to the range officer that we had no magazines or live rounds on us.

I checked my pockets and made my declaration. However, as we were walking off, I realised I still had a magazine on me, loaded with 10 rounds.

Interesting, a great way to get someone removed from a security detail.
Joking obviously.
