I was in an R F.D today buying some pellets...
There were a couple of guy's in the shop & I couldn't help but hear the one say to his mate ' I got hold of a cracking springer the other day '....had it over the Chrono & it's doing 13.8ftlb😡... I'm going to just cock a deaf one he said 🥺.

I couldn't help myself but felt it was my duty to tell him he was in charge of an illegal firearm & if I was him I'd not get shouting it front the rooftops.
I don't think he appreciated it but I don't care.

When I was still waiting for my Myth to return, I was in Solware picking up my Pretensis. Was talking to Hayden about what was going on, and the chap next to me chips in and starts trying to convince me to leave it as is (over 12)... stupid thing is I think he was having his power reduced on a new gun...

Yes there are a lot of irresponsible shooters about, especialy in the West Mids. I have come across a few over the years 😩 The irony is some of them are quick to complain about others when they are often a lot worse themselves 😂

Last year I was in a shop not to far from here, just about leaving when I saw a gun pointed around the shop - fortunately a part with no customers in it.
Bloke was frantically twiddling the Elevation adjustment and complaining that it didn't work.
My guess is that he thought he was adjusting the Focus . . . .

Shop owner came over and intervened so I left him to it.

Life's too short.

I was in Leicestershire airguns end of last year and there 2 lads walking around the shop picking up guns and cocking them then taking photos of each other holding them, my lad couldn't help himself and told them to stop it as it was dangerous then shouted over to one of the staff and told the what was going on, needless to say there were a few short sharp words and then a threat to escort them out if they didn't behave. The staff member then went round checking all the guns to see if any were cocked and found a few that were. If you have have been in the shop you can see how much of a job that would be due to the number of guns on show. Stupidity was present that day

I was talking to the owner of ONE of our gunshops SOME years ago (details omitted) who said he had an example of a fellow bringing in a straight-pull rifle for sale. The owner picked it up, worked the action and a live cartridge popped out. He looked in the open breech and saw more in the magazine.

I gather he sent the fellow packing. With some carefully chosen swear words.

I can magine that there are a lot of people like that in this country 🙈

Edit... and I can confirm that by the number of 🔥🔥🔥 guns ive had delivered / picked up 🙄

Oh yes indeed! I commented on a Facebook airgun group a while back in relation to a comment from someone wanting to up the power of their rifle a little more from 11ft lbs to 11.9 ft lbs. They clearly didn't understand that power creep is a thing. I, along with many others, commented that it wasn't a good idea for the usual reasons, and got ridiculed by a good number of people with comments like, 'Don't listen to these sadhats banging on about power limits, it's fine, no one's going to take your guns from you, ignore these sad tossers' etc. One of our fellow AGFers, who shall remain nameless, 'Liked' those negative comments, but had very little to say for himself when I messaged him privately.

Sounds like very few people in the UK has a basic gun training, perhaps not even had one in school... 🙄
Well no! Why would they? Why should they? The vast majority never have and never will have any interest in owning a gun. Long may that remain so but I do believe anyone who does has a personal responsibility to have training.

Not the case at all, in the U.K. all 11-14 year olds have to do 4 hours gun training per week. After 14 years old they only have to do 2 hours per week so they have time for unicycle training.

Funny you should say that, I have read a few things over the years posted by known AGF members elsewhere that made me question if the persona on here was just an act. The obvious example - and one that won’t stitch anyone up as it is widely known - was when Andy passed, someone suggested he did a runner with the donation pot, which lead to the first ever ban on AGF2, though not of the individual concerned.

As to power, watching the bloke who borrowed my chrono just adjust the weight down on the app to get it below 12 always sticks with me.

There was one who chimed in on that very matter, but got way with it and a lot of other shit by playing the 'age' card before finally being booted for posting stupid crap.

There are some real idiots lurking amongst us unfortunately, I have dozens of stories I could tell you about morons with airguns from 7 years in the trade but the most scary was the people who would come in and cock and load guns in the shop for what I assume they thought a ‘funny’ joke 🤬

I must have been asked at least three times a week which was the easiest gun to get the power over 12

Idiots

Being charitable........
Maybe he was trying to establish a guide to the heaviest pellet that he would be able to use with those settings.
