We have a permanent 50 metre hose connected from the house to the small vegetable garden at the rear of our main garden. Every year it’s the same. Wifey forgets to drain it before winter and every spring it leaks from a cracked plastic connector.
Yesterday she went to use the hose for the first time this year and guess what, yep, water pissing out again and she asked me again to fix it. I gave her the same lecture about draining it down and she assured me she had as she always does. Picture of leak in comments

That's what's called the potholes of life.

Buy her a new connector for Christmas.... and you can both have a good laugh at it. :ROFLMAO:

Two round leaks approximately 5mm in diameter, should I fess up 😳 5251B484-A974-4CCA-AA12-E602CF4159DD.webp

Hi does Mrs Twyford disconnect the connector from the mains tap if not you may have a slow drip💧which over 3/4 months in winter could build up and be the culprit

You can drain them down, but there will be a tiny amount of water left in the pipe which then collects at a low spot and freezes. Nothing you can do about that except take the pipe inside over Winter.
