Heads up from the shepherd that a fox is hanging around on the lambing field, muster the team and off we went to see what we could do, 90mins of patience paid off….
Great job.
Every year i take a walk up the fildes near where i live to watch the young lambs arrive.
One year there was a young lamb alive but uts intestines were hanging out.Poor thing was in a lot of pain and its mother was bleating like world champion. I went to farmhouse and told farmer. He came and sorted it lets say.His words were Dam those f***ing foxes.
A friend of the wifes ran a stable where she also kept those fancy show hens.Well she did until a fox got into the pen and killed the lot.
From Experience I’d say we had the resident breeding vixen, resident dog fox and as happens one of last years vixen cubs allowed to stay as a helper, sometimes in a good year she’d be allowed to have a litter herself.
