Hunting How not to pest control

Some are OK, if he takes his time, but lots of pulled shots, I have trouble with the constant narration too so have generally not been able to watch through.
I've taken some bad shots, but the result is normally to review what caused it, and try to work on that to avoid any repeat, not put it on YouTube.
At least this is sub 12, I've seen similar low (clean) dispatch rates with FAC.

Rats,in the dark, between 5 and 20 yds. makes range finding for hold over / hold under critical.
Credit to the man for making it real.
With selective, editing all shots can appear perfect. Many videos stretch credibility to the extent they insult our intelligence.
Those tasked with vermin control must respond to targets when available.
Totally different to shooting squirrel on a feeder, where POI can be zeroed in before taking the first shot at a live target.

The guy had all the latest gear including a range finding ballistic calculator. He just couldn’t stop waving about. He should take more practice target shooting or better still give up.

Reminds me of ( whacky races ) the younger ones amongst us won't remember that , Ratty races springs to mind with the music ect and it gets on my t+ts watching it or trying to.

I've seen a lot of his stuff and usually he's fine. I think most have runners but don't go far, probably die in seconds. Mjd.

Or Probably don’t. The distance he was missing he could have clubbed em to death.

There are some other YouTubers, who are generally pretty good, just occasionally will post a video where they were obviously rushing, or just having a bad day, but too many runners.

I don't really understand why they post those, yes they are realistic but realistic of a day not to shoot, they should have just gone home, or forgot about filming, concentrate on clean kills.
The Rat Buster is one that came to mind, generally fast, accurate and does the job well, but still wants to get a video up, so at least one of his had quite a few runners, made him look sloppy.

There are enough anti's without taking bad shots, let alone putting them public.

Exactly the distance where height of scope above barrel makes decision on hold over or hold under most critical.
For anything within 10 yds . I'll be more confident with open sights than when scoped.

But this was an electronic site with ballistic calculator the put a cross where needed no matter the distance and would range down to 5 or maybe 3yds.

Except that the distance becomes absolutely critical, so the laser rounding to the nearest meter is not accurate enough.
This has been reported elsewhere, the LRF units are not a solution to close stuff, unless their resolution is improved, and/or the sightline is moved closer to the barrel axis (to hide the errors).
My Thermnite optical lens is way over the bore, it is about the worst scope for close stuff as the distance is critical, so if they move a little it needs ranging again, even then there is little guarantee it is perfect. I'd much rather have a low scope, that I've got used to.

But the guy was shooting at greater distances than 10 yds. If that wasnt the case he would have known of the inaccuracy and that makes his culpability worse.
