Ok, I'll start, let's see what we've got and how we've set up.

Final evolution for now. I took that silly leather thing off the lever, it looks far better to my eyes. There's very little resistance (and discomfort) to cock it anyway.

Also fitted a nice Vortex 1-4×24 and zeroed in.

Low mounts are needed but they are all in use, these are mediums.

It's fast becoming one of my favourite rifles.

What forend is that Mr Bond?
Here you go-

You need to remove three small engagement noggins for the original 1895, then drill two 4mm holes to accept the Lievas forend pins. I hope @Jimmypie will forgive me using his pics for this. 🙏

I found I had to add a few thou of tape to help the forend grip locate on the front (muzzle) end clamp mech. Very solid once fitted properly and any tape, alterations, are invisible.

Cost will be circa £100, I got mine in a sale at Brownells, for significantly less than this. 😋

Clearly it was not my idea, I believe it was Jacob from Crawley Surplus.

That's great. I like the look of them as standard, but to me it's improved by this modification. Something different in the world of airguns outside of the bb plinking market.

I am happy with how it is now,.

Modifications:

Transfer port, reg pressure, hammer spring.

Rotating inlet valve cover sorted so it turns freely.

Trigger adjusted to crisp single stage and locking screws added.

Bushes added to stock to use countersunk head allen screws to attach it to action instead of pozidrives.

Rubber butt pad added.

Woodwork oiled.

Nice work. I copied your idea to use M4 wood inserts, a very good idea!

Was the trigger a pig to do?

Where is everyone getting the parts to do the hammer spring mod?
I don’t know on this rifle as I’ve not ordered one yet. Got it in my basket though.

I bought a box of assorted springs on AliExpress and sometimes have to cut them a bit to size. I think some people order a single long spring and cut to length.

I drilled out my existing transfer port from 1.8mm to 2.5mm (from memory) on a .22 rifle.

The stock hammer spring was about 10mm too long, simply cut down a bit at a time until 11 fpe was midrange on the adjuster thread.

No parts required.

I did likewise.

Its probably been said before but what benifits are there from the transfer port and hammer spring mod?
