So a nurse visiting neighbour had parked on their driveway.

Upon leaving she reversed out of their drive way....

Mounted adjacent pedestrian pavement.....

And...

...Entered my driveway and crashed into my parked car while I had lunch...

I don't believe it!

I almost choked on my lunch, the usual Wednesday fare, quails egg volovants, foigras, suckling pig followed by eton mess...

I think there's certain procedures I would not want her doing to me...

**No one was hurt in anyway, thankfully. So ideal for a bit of humorous tension release.**

You would think in this case alls well. 100% not your fault. very easy to prove her blame. She is most likely insured so you have no worries.
My car was was hit whilst parked,i was not in car. the car that hit my car was insured.all damage was paid by the other cars insurance.
My insurance WENT UP, i also have to disclose this "claim" for 5 years!
its a absolute con. Ok so i had to inform my insurance and give them the other cars details.any work Aviva did should of been paid for once by the other insurance company not every year for 5 years.
if you search for cheaper quotes using the usual web sites, when you get asked about claims you get a selection to choose from.
you will not see one " car unoccupied at time parked safely so not at fault" its a joke

Yep, tho other person admits liability but it’s still seen as an “incident” on Insurance and premiums increase.

My wife had it, small country road and a car and caravan squeezed past her and scratched his caravan on her wing mirror, she was stationary.

He got out and claimed he was stationary and it was her fault.

Anyway, she got home, phone the Insurance company of what happen, with his registration, just in case he tried to claim.

Anyway, no one claimed, and she didn’t either, but….on renewal, it had gone up significantly as she reported an incident.

Feck me, thats just ridiculous….

I'm with Saga and they told me it would be registered as a 'no fault liability' or something like that.

Other admitted liability in front of neighbour, couldn't really deny it, lol.

We'll see how it effects premiums.

That's just a scam, heads.....they win, tails....they win!

I understand there are cases where 1 person is clearly to blame BUT the companies talk to each other argueing BUT in most cases doing deals!
But you can not get more clear cut than hitting a parked empty car! how can any blaim OR claim be tied to that.
No chasing a driver ,driver insured fully com, all costs paid by guilty car. Its criminal.
its like being found innocent of armed robbery because you was abroad BUT doing some time in prison because you was accused.

There is hope!!!!

I retired after my policy renewal date and overlooked telling insurance company, I just got an email......

Sorry to sound negative BUT it will go up. I could not believe it so asked about it.
I was actually told the reason is it makes you a higher risk! if this happened at night whern i should of been on my drive,i would agree.
there should be no way a policy goes up if you are faultless, any costs entailed that causes your insurers work should come from the guilty party, well lets be fair it does, they just want to screw you to.
lets not get into writing cars off unseen after phone calls then selling to copart and collected next day.to be sold and repaired.

We'll have to see what it goes up too, I'll just have to roll with it. Over the years it has gone from £300 to over £500 (incl breakdown cover) and back down to £300 for no reason I can see.

As for writing off a well looked after car, I'm keeping an eye out for that and probably buy back if that happens.....as it's an American made car I'm not expecting good news.

Pet hate of mine, not reversing into parking spots. As for reversing out onto a main road, isn’t there a ‘Highway Code’ making that illegal (serious question)?

I once forgot to mention a claim when taking out insurance, A milk float had him my car whilst parked and broke the rear light cluster. The milkman owned up, admitted liability, and I claimed against their insurance.

When disclosed it a coupe of years later, half way the through a policy, they said it was a ‘undisclosed claim’, and it didn’t make a difference who’s fault it was. They just said ‘A claim’s a claim’.

They added a charge to my credit card, and it was more than the cost of getting the light fixed.

Last time I checked, it is an offence to reverse out on to a main road.

And yes always reverse in if you can.

Driving has become a nightmare all round, especially general standard of driving.

If not for visiting the farm I would happily give up driving, but then would have to use public transport....

A couple of work colleagues have had to accept split liability claims, one parked and unoccupied, the other stationary and waiting for vehicles to pass parked cars. Both were told if they hadn't been where they were then the accident wouldn't have happened and therefore both party's are to blame!
Absolute joke and total scam with insurance companies working in cahoots to work us over 🤬
