Never believe anyone when buying a gun second hand, that's a statement in itself, now I am not a nieve person and I bought my AP900 in 22 as the price was perfect for a project to strip down and have a good look at how this particular gun worked. I was told it was only 3 months old and the power was low so he sent it to a gunsmith and the gunsmith had sorted it and with jsb diablo pellets it was doing 11.5, I thought to myself at this point, he seems honest enough, but for the price and condition I just couldn't say no, so I bought it. Here is my results from my test using fx pocket chronograph

This is the part 2 of the story, I decided to de-gas the rifle and have a look inside to see if there was any visual problems, but to my surprise everything looks clean and untouched, my next move was to check the distance of the adjuster screw on the regulator, it was .69 of a mill more than I had seen on a total strip down of the rifle, and so I moved the reg screw to the exact same measurement he had his set at, now this was not even a 1/4 turn on the screw, re tightened lock nut and rechecked the measurement again, it hadn't moved, put rifle back together, recharged the gun to 250 bar , chrono set, first shot was over 20ftlbs, second shot burst one of the seals and air was poring out the end of the barrel, so I have taken it apart again and left it until I get a full seal kit, looking forward to working on it, some people might have been disappointed with this type of result, but I love a mystery, and I will sort it.

generally exhaust valve if its dumping air down the barrel, and I doubt you'll get hold of an original smk exhaust valve, probably have to get a custom one made
