Reximex Lyra owners

I think the walnut pretensis is a gorgeous looking rifle. Went into my local RFD to buy one and came out with a Myth , mainly due to the excellent shot count. Very happy with it but every time I see a pretensis, I wish I'd bought one. So thank for that ! 😳😆

I thought I would ask what pellets you are using in the Lyra I use H&N Field Target Trophy :177 @8.64gr and 4.52. These seem to fit well and are accurate,

I shot these targets at the weekend 20m
Still conditions
Lyra and Pretensis
H&n field target trophy 4.52
Both identical score,
Both very accurate,

I wish Reximex would make a Lyra K with a cylinder rather than the bottle. If they knocked 100 - 125mm of the length and fitted a shroud I reckon it would sell very well.

Ive got a regged pretensis cylinder on my lyra and a myth cylinder to fit on to it, the only problem is that s 38cm myth barrel is too short because the reg plenum adds length ao i need a 42cm barrel.

Morning,
I thought I would start a page for anyone who owns or is interested in the reximex Lyra,
I have owned my .177 for 8 months now it’s my first pcp,
I have owned air rifles for over 40 years all springers,

The Lyra I bought on a Black Friday deal for a good price and it looks and feels great, lovely walnut stock, fist impressions were good nice and smooth action and very accurate,
The gun is long and quite noisy,
Great trigger, and love the cocking lever,
The supplied magazines are usable but the ssl is about as useful as a fart in a space suit,

So over time I have added a weihrauch moderator now very quiet but very long,
2 John chu engineering magazines fantastic kit,
And a Bob p ssl also fantastic kit,
Oiled the stock with boiled linseed oil now lovely as it was drier than a nuns,
Added a Hawke side winder 6x24x56 scope (2nd hand but great scope).

The biggest problem I have had has been pellets falling back into the breech I have had to strip down the action and remove pellets from the loading arm and the hammer area which although it’s easy to access it a mare to clean the chamber,
This gun must never be tipped up to load if kept level it’s no problem, which can be difficult when shooting prone,

To sum up the Lyra as my first pcp,
I love shooting it it’s very accurate,
It needed time to get used to it and its foibles but for the money it’s great,

I hope this is useful info for anyone thinking of buying one,

My club has just bought 6 of these and bob p loaders. I've just spent 3 days dismantling, cleaning and modifying them. The mod is quick and easy to do, and stops pellets falling back into the breach. A good gun, but could be a little better if they had thought about it. Also, out of the 6, 3 had grub screws missing fron the sping tensioner, 4 loose barrels, 3 had anti tamper devices 3 didn't, and the number of devices varied between guns. Once you sort all this out, it's a very accurate gun, and easy to use. Reximex quality control, could do with an overhaul.

I been looking at these Turkish beauties for a while as my first pcp rifle.
And this is why I like forums, you get real life field test results and or problems that short term bench tests very seldom encounter,
Thank everyone

The Lyra was my first ever pcp and a huge learning curve. I now have a Pretensis as well as me and my son shoot which so far has had no problems, I love them both very accurate,
My suggestions If you get one
Clean the barrel
Check the barrel band is secure as mine were useless replaced with 3d printed version,
Oil the stock it’s a dry as a nuns ————,
Get a Bob p ssl the supplied one is a joke,
John chu mags are great and more shots,
The pretinsis has a muzzle break which helps but I use a moderator on mine whisper quiet,
It sounds bad but there great,
Superb triggers, no leaks, good shot count, nice cocking system, great walnut, good safety especially the Pretensis, dead accuracy, easy to fill,
Easy to strip and work on if required,

What's the mod to stop the pellet fall back thing ? I have a myth and was worried about it but been careful when cocking from the magazine not to tip the rifle back and had no problem. Would like to know what the mod is though 🙏

I've made a short video of the modification we have done on the Lyra's, to stop pellets falling back into the guns working parts. Its my first attempt at a video, but I hope you find it useful. This is not a sanctioned Reximex modification. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MxZ9jWg8aiounEOfrQZa1nTPa6Vl5Ag1/view?usp=drivesdk
Thanks for the video, really good guide to what needs to be done. Is it the same issue with the mags? Getting my Lyra this coming weekend and will add this as my first mod to do! They had them on at a price to good to be true so looking forward to shooting it.

You will love it so accurate,

Check the barrel band is secure as mine were useless replaced with 3d printed version, @Bomber1961

Hiya bud mine too, the grub screws when tightened have drawn out the threaded inserts.
Can you enlighten regards the version you sourced, was it home made or online??

I bought it on Amazon from AirGunMountingSolutions
It’s a bipod mount accessory which is easily modded, £14.99
It grips nicely and stops movement and you can fit a bipod on it as well win win,
I have on on my Pretensis as well as that was completely useless,
Hop this helps,
