Who remembers the BSA AAR Special edition that was for sale for months and months on here, the worst buy ever

I don't do high risk but have done very well, much better than on any guns I have sold thank christ or I'd be homelessWell I've never done it for a "hussle" as you call it, more to get guns I've always wanted but couldn't afford as a young man, but made an average of 50 quid on most of the ones I've sold after a few years of satisfying use before passing them on to the next keeper. Try making that much on 100 quid in a few years with investments without high risk....
Bargain! not much above the price of a standard one.I bought just before Christmas a hw50s red laminate 150 year anniversary model with pen and cap for £250 literally new , and the guy had trouble selling it, he was originally asking £350 they seen to do limited editions every other week
& About as useful if you don't shoot them....I know but they are probably as rare as hens teeth
You get a knife too ! Whoo hoo yippeeBargain , but you need the knife for full value .![]()
Mine gets shot , I've lost the pen and worn the hat& About as useful if you don't shoot them....
Lol I'd have probably lost the knife too by then. My mum saved up thousands of fag coupons to get me a Swiss army knife I wanted, had it one afternoon & it must have fell out my trouser pocket while lying on top of the cliffs shooting ferals for my brothers ferret. Walked back round that quarry the next day looking but no sign of it.Mine gets shot , I've lost the pen and worn the hat![]()
Well , real quality ones were always dearer just look at the prices compared to wages at the time, a bsa mercury for example might cost 2 weeks to unskilled workers wages whereas a hw or FWB sport would be four weeks worth. Thats why so many of us now can afford guns we couldn't back when we were young. Tbh I think if you want a good quality springer your better off buying a well looked after old German gun or if you have the time & skills a doer upper than a new budget Chinese built gun. I know which one will outlast you to pass on to the next generation....Prices of springers used to be cheap, but they are rising pretty fast in the last year or two. The quality manufacturers are disappearing too.
Like Junglie said:- BSA's were the solid, dependable gun in the 70's & early 80's that were within reach of the average Working Man (or Son of). Airgun World brainwashed everyone that they needed a Weihrauch or Feinwerkbau to be a serious Shooter but, that was like comparing a Ford Cortina with a Mercedes 240 - never saw any of them round our way !Well , real quality ones were always dearer just look at the prices compared to wages at the time, a bsa mercury for example might cost 2 weeks to unskilled workers wages whereas a hw or FWB sport would be four weeks worth. Thb apart from meteors which were very good for the price I never shot a mercury till the mid 90's to see how much better they were than the dreadfull airsporters of the 70's I tried. Thought they were good & powerfull at the time till I tuned my first half decent springer , a Diana g80, it beat the pants off them on power & accuracy & my pals thought it was weak as it didn't go twang like their airsporters. Till I outshot them with it. Won some bets with that one. ( Helped by the fact I was using Good German pellets at the time & they were just chucking anything cheap through theirs no doubt)Like Junglie said:- BSA's were the solid, dependable gun in the 70's & early 80's that were within reach of the average Working Man (or Son of). If you were on a really tight budget, your best bet was a Relum Tornado out of yer Mam's Mail Order catalogue at £0.75pa week for 52 weeks (or thereabouts !).
The bigger the twang = the more powerful the gun back then in a time before Chrono's !Thb apart from meteors which were very good for the price I never shot a mercury till the mid 90's to see how much better they were than the dreadfull airsporters of the 70's I tried.
