City Air Weapons and Firearms - Birmingham.

It’s not so much a shop as an over stuffed store room. Not much space in there. The old boy who runs it is very genuine but probably doesn’t even have a proper inventory of his stock.

I always ring before going.

The shop is struggling against slick online businesses. The poor presentation of stock does not help; but the stuff he keeps is pukka. Prices are made up in the spot sometimes!

If they have what I am after, it’s close and easy; but locally Solware and DAILeisure show how to do it.

I remember they were at the BSS back in February. Had a massive stock of rifles with deals to be had. I remember he had a load of brk ghost plus for sale for £1350. It was tempting but I didn't really have the money.

It was some old asian guy wearing a trilby hat and his son I think, seemed nice enough.

BoB's a nice guy bit odd at times I bought a new Kozak off him when they first hit the shop's it turned out to be over powered offered me a fund on the spot but i took a replacement it also turned out to be over powered back again refund offered i said might be a good idea if i take another let's run it over the crono over powered so we tested the other 3 he had same he was not happy sent the lot back. As for a deal he had some 7 litre carbon fibre cylinder's with only three and half years test left on them he knocked £100 off it i was happy .

Bob's not Asian it was him with the hat.

Well it doesn't matter, just what I thought I remembered. Maybe it was a good job I didn't fancy spending over £1300 quid that day. Maybe I would of found out why a brand new rifle was so cheap 🤔 😂

Bob is a great guy, dealt with him for years. His shop is an Aladins cave and he is an old skool dealer. Best to do the deal face to face failing that on the phone. The web site is not click and collect like Argos but his knowledge is invaluable.
Bought my 9015 there and had a great deal last year.

Try to give my honest opinion and a someone has to come on with a 💩 comment
why I don’t participate in a lot of chats no need
Is that in response to my comment earlier?
(Seems to be the only reply to you.)

I'm sorry that you took my light-hearted comment as offensive - it was not meant that way.

I like to get in and out of RFDs I’m not one that’s goes for a cuppa and a chat, but hes such a nice bloke, it’s a pleasure to have a chat with him.Not the most organised and definitely no pressure to buy. Very knowledgeable.

I've spoken to him loads of times... tried to PX a rifle once & he said ' hold on pal...let me stop you there '... I'm not interested as I have hundreds of used rifles i can't shift, friendly enough but never ever called me back 😭.

i wanted a fwb800 basic which were showing on the website. he kept promising to phone me back to confirm he did actually have one in stock.

after 2 weeks of chasing him up and never able to get a confirmation i came across edinkillie and phoned them. saved hundereds of pounds as well, despite RFD fees.

so Bob, useless and overpriced. complete shambles.

Bought my Jon Harris 9015 from Bob at city air weapons as already said its a bit on an odd shop with no room to swing a cat round , just boxes and boxes of guns everywhere but he is legit and quite a nice guy with more stock that I've ever seen at any other gun shop

Had my first Anschutz .22lr when they were in another area of B'ham around 24yrs ago, if it indeed was the same outfit, called the same name then, but defiantly not where they are now. And also part exchanged of a FWB700 for a Walther XT400 a few years later.
Great place to deal with then.
I have tried several times to contact these people via email and phone to check on stock, never did get a reply to emails and just get answer machine if you call.
I'm not travelling on the off chance they'll have it in stock as per the website though.
Just had a search, they were in Solihull when I first had dealings with them, it's on Facebook dated 2016 with photos of the shop then :)

Just to report back. I bought the rifle and it arrived via RFD transfer bang on time without any problems and exactly as described.

Absolutely perfect. Over the moon.
Has anyone heard of or had experience of these guys situated in Eurodeal House, Brearly Street ?

Not keen on handing over big wonga without doing a check first. The website lists their guns for sale but without any method of payment. Not sure how that’s meant to work.

Birmingham is too far for me to travel so it would all have to be done remotely on trust. Are they pukka ?

Good reliable service.

City were very good with my purchase and after care.

What were the logistics of the after care, if you wouldn't mind sharing?

Mainly me getting the cocking cycle sequence wrong on a Parker Hale Dragon from them.
I returned it, they checked it over and returned it all FoC when it was me not doing it all in the right order.

Genuine guy, he knows his target rifles inside out and the older match rifles. I've tired to deal a couple of times but we've been a bit out on price but I keep an eye on his stock and will have no problems dealing with them when the right gun comes up.

It's been a long time since I looked but a few years back I would check the site periodically. However, I never saw anything that carried a price that pulled me in and made me buy. But I should emphasise most of my guns have been bought pre-owned, not new, and quite a few have had little pre-meditation or planning before I bought them.
An RFD isn't usually the best place for best price for a used gun, even if they have something that prompts a buy-notion by being available. From memory, his new prices seemed aligned with MRSP and I suppose aligned with typical one-man-band RFDs.
