I don't own a 4x4 and never have but I'm thinking of getting one eventually as I'm tired of carrying three guns plus ammo up to one of my local club ranges, it's quite a steep chalky hill and really no 4x4 can get up there when it's been raining but in the dry it's still rutted.
What do people think of the Subaru Forrester in petrol (can't own a diesel as I live within ULEZ).
 
Only the one now unfortunately, my l200 which gets used for work and everything else.

My old xc90 i sold this year for an ev (huge mistake) did surprisingly well in the woods on 19 inch grabbers

Next buy will be a big jap i think, maybe a patrol or landcruiser. Although i keep getting tempted by cayenne's..

Ditto! Had a Freelander2 with a 3/4 ton trailer but can now get the same weight in the back of an old 90 with the bonus of being to go wherever I want to go at 50mph. :LOL:

My xc60 and it was off road this morning. Normal hybrid drive does not work in the muddy field but off road mode is spot on.

Not sure I’d want to go anywhere extremes with it 🤔

To be fair the pavement is usually its maximum challenge. But it does well in the shooting field where others dare not go. I will post a photo next week to show how “off road” it is (ish).
 
Heres mine skoda kodiaq tdi 4x4 had it five years highest water its been through was a foot deep on way to work one morning a couple of years ago. Been down quite a few dirt tracks with it covered in large pot holes all over the place and that was before i had even left the main road🤣

Looks like it's been washed away!
 
Gets cleaned when mirrors too dirty to see with when back from fishing or shooting 😁
