Let's see your watches

Nice collection, just have 2 gshocks now. Did have a lovely gshock but reluctantly sold as my aging eyes struggled with the negative display.
There are a few now with MIP displays (memory in pixel) which are clearer and easier to read. The negative lcd are very poor other than in normal light. They have just released the square with MIP , GW BX5600 which might be worth a look.

Those 2 are classics👌🏻

Being playing about tonight , before is how they looked and below is how they look now

When I buy a watch I prefer to buy older ones with wabi sabi aready on them as I have this almost morbid dread that a new and unmarked watch will get a mahoosive ding as soon as I put it on, It normally always happens too as i'm such a clumsy sod!!

I bought this Seiko SKX-033 from Jakarta that a fella had bought for his hols but he didn't wear it, I won it on fleabay from memory, It was in such nice condition I thought i'd only wear it in the house so it would be safe!

I'd not had it on 30 minutes when I smacked it into one of the radiators and put a groove right across the Hardlex crystal from 3 to 9! (A bit hard to see in pics) 😭

The scratch can just about be seen at the date window, It also removed paint from the opposite side of the bezel insert too!

Very nice!
Im also clumsy! Usually door knobs / handles that jump out and attack me!🤬

Ive sent my Solar powered perpetual Seiko back for service. Its stopped :D:D:D. They virtually re-new it for £120. Thats probably all its worth now but I like it and its comfortable. I felt lost without a watch on my wrist and having sold my other 3 or 4 (for not much) I had to buy another. I like stainless straps but if I buy second hand they are never long enough so I decided it had to be new. I saw one I liked for £250 so I looked closer and there was another version with a silicone strap for £180.....so I decided that it would be good for a second watch....the strap didnt need any bits taking out which is always fraught with danger (jesus springs). Now Ive got it I might like it better than my old one. Its got the date on wheres my old one is complicated to get the date.

Whilst on holiday last year the clasp on my Oris decided to fall to pieces. Couldn't find a couple of the tiny bits. Over £300 for a new bracelet if you can find one. So I got a local jeweller to cobble up a generic clasp keeping the Oris name plate. £30 all in. At least I can wear it.

I'm surprised that you couldn't just source the parts or a new clasp direct from Oris. I have in the past brought genuine bracelet parts for both Tudor and Breitling via an authorised dealer and been pleased with how relatively cheap the parts were. You often see second hand spare links etc for "luxury" brands on eBay and people are asking silly money, but for example brand new bracelet links from Tudor £25 each, and new solid end links from Breitling £20 each (with free postage).

If you ever need Oris parts again, it might also be worth trying Andrew Charles who has a stock of NOS and pre-owned Oris spare parts - https://www.actimepieces.co.uk/

I have a few nice watches but this is the one I wish I'd never sold, I almost gave this away, boxed and in new condition, now they fetch a few hundred quid, the Citizen Eco Drive Skyhawk Titanium, keep seeing them on sale and I'm tempted to buy one.

Ive got an Oris that was my Dads......it was bought new in 1932 so its approaching 100 years old....Its gold with and expanding gold strap both are hall marked....Its not working so I suspect it has more value as scrap than as a watch.
