After months of PCP strip/rebuild, pellet testing, chrono testing, sighting in and hunting, I really needed the feel of a springer.
So out with the .25 Hatsan Striker break barrel several pull throughs to clean a dirty bore, can't remember the last time I did that.
A 4 x 40 Richter Optik up top
With a 4 x 40 Richter Optik up top and a tin of .25 Marksman pellets sorted and weighed, a whopping 17 yards laid out in the garden, 10 pellets to give a bit of releading to the bore and then 5 shots table rested forestock in palm, 4 almost through the same pellet hole and one pulled at 11 o'clock that was definitely me.
Obviously I need more practice, but how refreshing to have the heavy trigger, the twang, the recoil kick and as slow as London traffic, 19g of Marksmans finest .25 pellet lazily arced it's 11.5 ftlb way towards the target.....then smack, nothing hits like .25.
Eager to get more practice in I'm also going to try the .25 H&N Ftt, 20g. The tin should be here tomorrow.
Even after the satisfaction of really stretching the legs of my Super 10 .22 and Snowpeak AP 1000 .177 last weekend to 70 yards, a bit of .25 break barrel springer short range plinking is equally as satisfying and fun.
