Cats

Smartie was tempted out by the sun today but discovered it was still rather chilly and is now asleep on the bed :D

At least it is dead.
Unknown to me, mine brought in a live rat - a week later we lost power in the kitchen
as it had chewed through the fridge wire and tripped the circuit breaker.
Took bloody ages to find it.
Unfortunately they ain't always, and then it's my job to catch them, not managed to catch any yet, usually find them weeks later, don't know what they die of, shock, starvation, injuries..?

I know it's only nature for cats but it bothers me him killing stuff, the birds always make a right mess, feathers, blood and sh*t everywhere.

Think they must put up more of a fight 😞

Smartie has only ever brought in live birds and small rodents so far. One of them managed to climb up a pipe run from the airing cupboard into the loft - we heard it scratching around up there at night until I trapped it.

His little sister Misty is still doing really well - they play like crazy things but are happy to settle down together now as well.

She had her vet check and 1st inoculation 12 days ago - we were dreading it as she'd never been anywhere before but she was as good as gold, purring loudly and taking treats from the vet. I'd even trimmed her claws beforehand, just in case! :D Not bad for a semi-feral farm kitten.

2nd vaccination next, then when she's big enough combined spay and microchipping. She'll remain a house cat till after that.

Gotta love a posh Tuxedo!

This is Tia, she rules the house, knocking on fifteen now. When she was younger she brought a kit (baby rabbit) into the house by the scruff of its neck. She then decided to drop it in the lounge and proceeded to chase it all around the house. Was a nightmare trying to catch it again. Managed to scoop it up in the end and return it to the field.
