I'm in the market for a new woman :love:Dancing banana

Back in the day, when I was much younger, out you went on a Saturday night and bobs ye uncle, oh ye:LOL:

Now much older, I don't do the going out on the lash thing and all my mates are settled down.

I broke up with my long term girlfriend of ten years around 6 months ago.

I'm now at the stage where I would like to start seeing someone. But how to meet someone new ?
Me and my mate at work have been checking out various dating sites and when you start to look into them, very few if any have good reviews.

We mainly used Trust pilot.

I'm in my late 50s.

Anyone had any experience or success with dating sites ?

I joined a few after my partner passed away ( 20 years ago today ) and I met my now wife on one . Loopy Love I think the site was called but there were multiple names for the site as they all used the same platform.

Edit . Its not the Loopy Love site that I just found with google. It was a mobile dating one.

We have been together since 2008 and married in 2010. A friend here was at school with her so that helped as I was 50 /50 on meeting her.

I met a few ladies on them . Some were really nice and one or two were nutjobs .

I tried the dating site thing, not for me personally.
If you don't look for love and you are happy in yourself the chances are it will just come out of the blue.
Met my lovely 'controller' in a backstreet petrol station, she had dropped a bar of chocolate, my reward for picking it up and giving it to her was that we shared it🤗

A friend of mine met someone on a site called "our time" I believe, or something very similar. Only reason I even remember is because they are flipping perfect for each other 👍

I think there are quite a few dating sites to choose from, I don't know much about them TBH, but there are some which are basically hook up sites, and others, perhaps where a subscription is required, for people looking for a partner. There is a lot to be said for borrowing a dog to take to nice places if you don't have one of your own, and never forget the supermarket, just look for a wedding ring to avoid any confusion and don't jump on them, but a pleasant hello on a few different weeks may be a start? Joint interest clubs etc. are also a good call, but I know it's harder than it sounds Shrug tt

Best of luck

Cheers guys (y)

I've looked into the more popular ones, the ones you see advertised on TV. Thinking, oh they should be ok, but like I say, once you read the reviews, not good :(

It definitely seems harder when you get older. And not in a good way  :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

There's one for country people D, possibly ladies more up your street? Can't remember the name sorry. Jonny met his new lady through a site and to date she appears to be an excellent catch.
My dad was on one years ago he was using it rather naughtily and having the time of his life till he met 2 basket cases in a row, that slowed him up 😀

yeah the apps used to be alright when they first came out but unfortunately nowadays its mainly just bot accounts trying to scam you and those looking for a free meal lol

Bit of a dilemma 🤔
Go old school, coach trips, organised events, you may drop lucky.
Just beware of the mingers and gold diggers 😉👍
That sounds like good advice mate 👍
I went into town for a few drinks with my brother maybe 3 years ago. Possibly because I'm a middle aged Dad but, the other patrons looked like they should be doing their homework ready for school the next day. Some of the things I've been told about dating sites make them sound like a wild west livestock market 😯

Thankfully, I found a nice lady who's prepared to put up with me a long time ago 🙂
Honestly, I think if I ever end up single again I'd just stay that way.
That said: @Trumpetier good luck with your endeavour - I'm sure you'll find someone nice that makes you smile when you least expect it 🤞🙂👍

Two of my mates go dancing! One mate is in his 20s and the other is in his 70s. They say they are so outnumbered by lovely women that they never get a moment to themselves. The young guy said he'd love to just sit and watch the ladies for a bit, but as soon as he's released by one he's invited by another. Its a great way to meet lots of women without "meeting" women, so there's no pressure.
