Hi all,

Next week I'll be taking the step into PCP's. The range I shoot at (Alders Farm) offer free refills. I've not paid any attention to this previously as I've been shooting springers and I'm just wondering do I need anything specific to be able to connect my HFT500 to their equipment other than the supplied fill probe that comes with the HFT500? I'm assuming there is some sort of "standard" that ranges use for this facility, I just don't know what that is and don't want to turn up unprepared.

2nd question. I see that a lot of people swap the Air Arms T valve thing for a Best Fittings Fosters quick connect kit. Worthwhile doing from the off or wait and see how I get on with the standard fitting?

Thanks in advance.

The Foster fitting you mention is the standard so all you should need is a valveless Foster male and a bonded/dowty washer, both in 1/8 BSP fitting. As said, readily available from Best Fittings.

I would wait to see how you get on before starting to fiddle with high pressure components. Changing it may well affect any warranty claims.

Alders range guns are Air Arms, so you can use the range adaptors, they also sell the quick release fitting that will convert your fill probe and enable that to fit the PCL style coupling on the range bottles.

Alders fill tube is a quick release foster fitting. You probs will need the male fitting. Connect it to tube, n connect to your rifle. Fill it slowly. When finished, don't turn it off so no-one else can use it without a massive wrench.
Remember to use your empty chamber/breach flag when moving the rifle to the filling bench, barrel in a safe direction at all times
