yes that’s what i use it for, i can’t remember what barrel i used, i just stripped it so you can see how it went together if that helps.

i made it from scratch, i have the template i made somewhere, was going to redesign it but haven’t got round to it yet.

yep, it’s got a .22 barrel, just over 500mm long. super easy to use but it’s just for fun.

can go wrong with any of them really, but the m44/m40 i think are the most versatile take it with you next time you won’t regret it. 👍

i think the trick is to only count the ones that are all together and working, that way i can tell the wife i only have 3 🤣 … if i count all the parts/projects that are hidden away then i would have to take my socks off to count them all. 😂

as well as the kelly kettle i think my go to mess kit is the swedish army trangia (stainless steel one) as you can hang it in a fire to cook if you run out of meths, it’s a little heavy though.

open fire cooking stake is pure bliss i agree, if i take my son with me his favourite thing is doing popcorn in a billy can over the fire.

any camping be it wild or with the family i have to take the kelly kettle with me for boiling water, and a good tarp
