Not having a TV licence, declaring no set ages ago, just watch old DVD box sets and maybe the odd programme on youtube.. although crime genre def not a favourite, was watching The Streets of San Francisco with Richard Hatch and guest criminal Mark Hamill a few months ago- made a year or two I guess before Hamill picked up a light sabre I guess- great episode- looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger was in one of the episodes, will have to watch that one.

Used to watch Hill Street Blues when it came out and a few years back bought the DVD set of "The Shield" watched them all then went to charity shop. Great drama.

Will have to look up a Kojak or two. Stateside TV series, were just the best. Anyone think the 70s and 80s were the best for stateside Cop TV shows?

I looked up C.H.I.P.S the other month for the American cars in it, and that looked like a really lame show, not all all something that stands the test of time. The Streets of San Francisco looks good.

The Wire. Definitely the best cop show, and also one of the best shows of any genre.

The Shield. A distant second, but still excellent today.

Got the boxed set of The Sweeney. More modern stuff; Rebus, Vera, Shetland, New Tricks, Waking The Dead, Wycliffe, Morse, Lewis, Endeavor, Silent Witness.
Used to watch the US stuff as a kid (Columbo, Kojak Streets of SF).

Don't forget Baretta, in amongst all the top quality police shows of the 70s, Baretta had about the best intro music.

Starsky and Hutch and Kojak for me, of the modern (ish) stuff I liked Dalziel and Pascoe.. Warren Clarke a proper actor (y)

And one of the best.. jump off a helicopter onto a boat, jump onto a car, jump onto a bus... no stopping the absolute legend ..
T.J himself.

If you want a modern ccp show, try brooklyn 99.
Available 9n nwtflix.

I like watching Police Interceptors. . Actual footage of the police dealing with boy racers, drug dealers and other assorted thugs, etc..

I watched the West Yorkshire series of Police interceptors half expecting to see my ex-wife in an episode..drunk and driving like it was stolen.

I believe the original series were Essex based, vaguely remember delivering to their base in the Chelmsford area around 2008, then the programme went oop North.
Then they came down again for an episode in Northamptonshire- 2nd possibly 3rd series on the way?
Took their time..you could smell the weed grow half way across town before they raided the place :ROFLMAO:
