Just can’t help myself 2240

So I brought another new Crosman 2240 a few months back . I swore blind I was going to leave it as a stock pistol .

Can’t help myself .
New stock , new muzzle adaptor and silencer . New steel breech and a cheap scope .

The only problem I have is now I need a longer barrel (10”) as the muzzle adapter blocks the co2 capsule.

What sort of adapter is that? Got a cheap GunTuff one on mine & doesn't go on far enough to block the capsule entry. Know what you mean about adding bits though, it's addictive!!

Thats strange. There is no way I can get mine on far enough to to go past the second securing screw. I'll have to have another look at that one!

I screwcut the barrel and made a pistol specific mod. Crisis averted.

Yes mate.. I wanted a slightly longer barrel too so got one and machined it

I made these a couple of years ago ? 2240
I think it was 10 inch or larger , Still have one ( Somewhere )
These are fitted with the standard 1/2 thread
& some, 2240 barrels I drilled out & Rifled in .25

Ged.

Company here in Texas called Buck Rail that makes a press on for the 2240, 13xx, etc barrels and also a threaded one for the 2240XL barrels. Don’t know if they’re available in UK. Work very well. This is the press on one on my .22 Custom Shop 2300. The threaded one has a patterned exterior.

Yes, very much so . Completely different.

Carefully balancing the hammer and valve springs, or fitting a 'stopped spring guide' to reduce hammer bounce will also greatly reduce the noise - both with and without a moderator.
A lot of gas is wasted on these when they are stock, with some care you can easily get well over 100 shots out of a 12g caplet.

Oh yes indeed it does, I'm well pleased with my Hogan Decimeater and also have one on the Chaser cos that's a noisy little thing

I use the same silencer adapter on my 2240, I added a 10mm spacer from a bit of scrap tubing I had to the inside of the adapter and that’s enough to get the c02 cap on and off capsules in and out etc etc

Nice looking gun. Looks a lot like a Rat Catcher. I’ve been away for a while - what is the difference between the 2240 and the Rat Catcher? Both seem very similar?
